With a Masters degree from the London Film School, pioneering Emirati filmmaker Ali F. Mostafa’s regional box office hit, CITY OF LIFE (2009) was the first Emirati film to open a Gala screening at the Dubai Film festival. This earned him a Best Emirati Filmmaker Award for creating the first international Emirati feature film. His sophomore film, FROM A TO B (2014) was the first Emirati film to open the Abu Dhabi Film festival, receiving international acclaim that led Studio Canal to pick it up for international distribution.
His latest film, postapocalyptic action thriller THE WORTHY (2016) had its world premier at the London Film Festival and one of the few Arab films to be released on Netflix. Ali has produced several films as well as directed and produced cutting edge commercials. He received recognition from Esquire magazine by awarding him Man of the Year. Ali is focused on always pushing the bar and his industry.
